The Pan American Society for Clinical Virology (PASCV) was founded in 1977 to foster the development of new techniques for rapid viral diagnosis, to improve quality control for reagents, to sponsor training programs, scientific meetings and symposia, to disseminate relevant information, to encourage collaborative research, and to coordinate activities with other scientific organizations. The pace of viral outbreaks in recent years has been constant. Ebola, Chikungunya, Dengue, MERS, and now Zika demonstrate that our world is continuously challenged by an incessant pace of viral epidemics. PASCV is the premier organization wherein resides the expertise to provide education on the diagnosis, treatment, epidemiology, transmission prevention, and pathogenesis of these infections.
We are thrilled to report that PASCV met its 2015/2016 program goals. We have a new upgraded web portal that allowed for expanded educational content including cases-of-the-month, a slide library, and two webinars. We acquired P.A.C.E. accreditation status that allowed participants to earn continuing education credits through our programs. And we were able once again to deliver top-notch practical clinical virology content through our Molecular Virology Workshop (MVW). We are very grateful for your financial support - it made these achievements possible.
PASCV is now looking to build on this base – to expand its educational programs through the following activities and is seeking unrestricted educational grants to sponsor:
